The Making of an Effective Leader

The Making of a Good Leader
Every person has the opportunity to exhibit good leadership qualities. As a realtor in Lancaster, PA, I understand this better than most. I spent 22 years as a pastor and learned so much about leadership. Helping sellers and buyers in a transaction in the Lancaster, PA real estate business also includes important leadership traits.

The first quality of leadership I articulate is, "Positive, Passionate Presence." If you are in the business of leadership in your occupation or family, you must be present. For the buyer or seller in Lancaster, PA a realtor needs to be present for showings, inspections, to field questions, give timely feedback and work effectively.

A good leader realizes it is necessary to be present from a symbolic standpoint. I was criticized when I was a pastor when I was not present during a week long Vacation Bible School. I came to understand when I had no responsibility at an event, I still needed to be present to show my support and to encourage those who were responsible. The same is true for a realtor who works in advocacy for his/her client.

Without positive, passionate presence, a Lancaster, PA real estate professional will be less successful in doing his/her job. If there is a leadership vacuum, a leader will arise and exert leadership.

How well are you doing in developing your positive, passionate presence leadership quality? Do you need to improve?
